Our new late payment policy

Why we have a late payment policy

Unfortunately, from time-to-time people accidentally forget to pay us for our services – it happens! People aren’t perfect. 

At the same time – we need to make sure that our customer service representative, jumpers and drivers are paid. They do the hard work every day that is necessary to keep high-quality trash service in our area a possibility. For that reason, we have put together this timeline and policy, so that we can be reasonable about late payments, while still making sure we can compensate the boots-on-the-ground who make trash pickup happen everyday! 

Without further ado, here is our timeline!

Payment Timeline for Adams Sanitation Customers

15th of the month before a bill is due – This is when we send out our bills to our customers, which are due on the first of the following month. So, if a bill comes to your email on the 15th of April, it would be due on the 1st of May. 

3rd of the month the bill is due – At this point, the bill is two days past due – we will send out a reminder that the bill will be late as of the fifth of the month via text message and email. 

5th of the month: last day to pay before a late fee is applied – All payments made before 11:59 PM on the fifth will be considered on time. 

6th of the month: Late fee is applied and reminder is sent out – At 12:00 AM on the sixth, the bill is officially late, and a late fee of $4.50 is applied to the account that is late. We will send out another text and email to the customers who are officially late on the sixth of the month letting them know their bill now has a late fee attached to their payment. 

7th of the month – another reminder – We will send out another reminder to the people who have missed payment via text and email. This reminder will let people know that we will suspend service to their home and add a $10 suspension fee to their account if the account is not settled by the 10th of the month. 

10th of the month : Account is officially suspended – If the account is not paid up by the 10th of the month, the account will be suspended and at $10 suspension fee will be added.

25th of the month: Account is cancelled – At this point, the account with Adams Sanitation will be officially cancelled. Should the customer want to start service with us again, they will have to re-pay a cart delivery fee, submit another deposit and pay a previous cancellation fee of $10.50.
